I don't know Bennie, but it would be better to work with him than piss him off I think. But before we do anything here, we need permission here first. Again, I don't know how to approach this or where to start. I assume the owners of this place have thought about this before? Like every time Cbtricks has crashed. Maybe if they see how much interest is here, the ball will start rolling? Maybe one of the mods can give us some input on this?

You are ASSUME that our already over worked moderators would even be interested in taking a porcupine like that on.
Whenever I quote a source of information I give that source credit and responsibility for that material.

The key word is "think". I believe to avoid being sued one will have to hire a lawyer and find out for sure. This isnt something I would go into half assed. Better have your ducks in a row messing with someone elses property.

As long as you do not claim the material and research as your own and credit GOOGLE or the source of the information you cannot be sued for plagiarism. As long as you do not alter the material or change its meaning you would be in the clear.
Does CBTRICKS credit all of its material to the source like Dynascan, Ranger, and Galaxy whatever other manufacture they have diagrams for?

Kinda. I can tell you from firsthand experience that Galaxy doesn’t really care, even if you use their logo or whatever on t-shirts and stuff like that.

No, I don't assume that they would be interested. I think it is probable that if this is a possibility to have CBTricks info here that they would have already thought of that the very first time CBTricks crashed. I assumed that they thought "NO" because the info from CBTricks is not already here.

Giving credit to the source is the right thing to do for a few little things here and there. If you copied my whole entire website without asking and just gave credit to me as the source, I would be pissed. I am just trying to figure out the best way to go about this. Apparently continuing to post my thoughts about it on this thread will only make things worse.

Anyone in North Carolina who can go by his address? Visit him in the hospital if thats where he is? See if there is an obituary and surviving family, most importantly the executor of any possible will. Maybe have to hire a a lawyer if there is no will and it goes to probate.
If you cant contact him, family is the next step. Anything else wont gain access to the content everyone wants to keep alive.
My suggestion is to do some public searching and paying a few bucks for some real info. Looks to be around $40 for a month or so. Contact family and make plea to keep their familys work alive.
A state search I did revealed some family names that need further searching and possible contact but again even the state wanted $$$ for info.
How bad do we want to try and keep this info alive? How many hours is someone willing to spend to save all of it?

The loss is the info contained within. No one really cares about the same attitudes still found around the radio forums today. Some of meanest old farts had a ton of info to share. Just the pickings of some great minds who are being lost to time but their info doesn't have to necessarily.
