choice between hr2510 hr2600 and optima mk3

The optima is a great radio for the cost. Simple yet effective.

I have a 2510 still working. I replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors first thing when I got it home. Still working good and I made my first overseas contact with it and I was not running a linear.
But if I were to make a purchase these days I would go for the optima.

Too bad the 2950s only do 25w ssb, you get 50 out of the optima and they are right around the same price. Not to mention the optima has better filtering and the 2950 is known for frequency drift issues.

I can't speak for the optima but from what I have heard they do have a quieter receive than a 2950. I have owned several 2950/70s through the years and NEVER had a frequency drift issue with any of them.
