Christmas day 200 mile drive making DX contacts

talked all over gods creation during my drive, got to talk to a guy in California while driving in kansas he was using an optima mk3 i WILL be getting one of those awesome sounding and rock stable, perfect audio. We talked a good 45 min till i turned east bound i never lost him but alot of other stations just popped in. 73s 101 Bob in the weakey squeaky mobile im out

Those Optima's are solid little radios. Add a good Icom mic and a decent antenna and you will have a goof mobile set-up. No real need for an amp with that set-up as well.

i was using a Philippine mad 1993 cobra 148f gtl (modified but to perfection) and a 2 2879 pill amp and a wilson 1000 mag mount and of course a 20 plus year old real road king 56
