Cobra 148 gtl


That all depends on what version Cobra 148 you have. If it's the new version I would forget about it, they are junk. Also if it's the ST version (sound crapper) I would skip that one as well.

Cobra 148GTL isn't a radio model. It's a 40-year product line. Radios made in Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, China are similar, but each has its own quirks.

It started out with a 5-pin mike socket on the side, and evolved to a 4-pin socket on the front. The "Sound Tracker" versions had a reputation for being fragile. And the china-made "D" suffix letter radio sold most recently was a total dog.

All 148s are not created equal.

Bobby , I think that's the mic ! I have a D104m6b , I had it on my old Cobra 140GTL , all my locals said it sounded like :censored::eek: ! It got to the point one of my local Op's , showed up @ my QTH & handed me a brand new non-amplified Super Star .:LOL: I use that now & all is Good in Magnum land ( according to my locals ) :ROFLMAO: .
