I got this radio for free over the weekend and was wondering what peoples opinion of this radio is. I poked around the internet and found the cbtricks page on it and that was about it. As far as opinions on the radio itself i couldnt really find many opinions on it. Lots about the Cobra 200 being a POS, but not much on the 150 at all

I have one I got for 20 bucks brand new from Amazon a few years ago. It is OK for what it is. Not a very selective front end, TX audio is decent enough with a good microphone. You have to watch not to try to turn the audio up too much, or you will get a popping sound in with your modulation.

Is yours already converted?

yes it is already converted. I couldnt resist popping the cover and looking around :) The only mod that had been done was the frequency mod. Radio looks overall in good shape, just a few minor cosmetic blemishes

Cool. I tried using mine mobile for a while. It certainly got out just fine. I used a Superstar DM-452 hand mic with it. It sure did pick up a lot of nasty static and noise at times, especially in denser urban areas. My Grant LT is MUCH better about all that, and became the mobile that I use when I want a CB in the auto.

The 150 was not near as big a turd as the 200's were. You got it at the right price for sure. I think they sold for 150-190 bucks new, for that price they were average at best.

I know of an individual who is trying to sell his Cobra 150 GTL DX. He's asking $100 on it. I've considered buying it, but does $100 sound too much?

Also wanting to know....how many watts of modulation does the 150 GTL DX produce?

And how does the echo sound on the 150 GTL DX?

Yea, 75-100 is ok if that's what ya need. Even at 100 your fine, if you want to sell it go E-Bay and some guy will pay 125. lol
