Cobra 29 NW LTD no RX, TX ok no Modulation


Replaced Audio Amp with TA7222AP
The radio in the pic looks like the post-2006 radio with an audio chip type YD-1022.

Not a TA7222P. The audio chip in the pic has pins 1, 5 and 6 grounded. The schematic for the YD-1022 shows those three pins to ground.

The TA7222 has pins 3, 7 and 8 grounded. But not on this radio.

Shoulda read the number off the old chip before choosing a replacement. If you really did put a 7222 into it, you should never hear any audio from it with that part.

It needs the same type chip that it was wired to use.
