I went a little overboard..... wife is viewing with alarm the growing pile of stuff both already in hand and arriving soon... (the mobile will be the base radio) all hail the wifely proclamation we have all heard...... "you do not use half the stuff you already have....." it still amazes me they have not figured out that isn't the point LOL

I've tried that I bought her more christmas lights for house shes christmas mad.....they arrived today. Shes on the way home from work. Hope I get some brownie points lol

Just use the same line my wife uses. And I have used her very words against her a time or two, seems to work , IT WAS ON SALE.

Most of the stuff has arrived. I was disappointed in the RA-86. I was under the misaprehension that I could get it to program and transmit on all GMRS channels like the RA-25. Seems taint so.
It went back in the box. It wasn't off amazon so can't return. Went on shelf never used lol. Guess it will be the lend/lease radio for group trips for other people's cars. Ordered a second RA-25 for my truck.

Just wondering, what channels does it have, and what ones is it missing?

Like many mobiles or bases it locks out the FRS frequencies 8-14 as receive only and the Retevis software won't allow changes to those. And CHIRP doesn't seem compatible as of yet.

Ahhh. Gotcha..
Don't feel too bad. I just got chance to try the Retevis RT-85 radio.. And as expected, modulation is very poor..
On my modded old Baofeng UV-5R, its transmit audio is loud and clean. The Retevis you had to basically yell into the thing to hear it even with the baofeng's volume up.

I will wait to see if someone does a modulation mod for the RT-85. Otherwise, for $23 for the 2 pak, I can keep them around.
