Cool Old SWR/Power Meter

Nice little score from ARC Thrift Store. I love old CB stuff. I wonder what this cost when it was new. Seems like it is good quality, for it is very heavy. It reads the same as my cheap Chinese meter, so bye-bye cheap Chinese Meter, hello new Japanese meter!

Nothing really exciting. I have half a dozen of them, with and without the little wire antenna for field strength. Very little accuracy as a wattmeter, but will give a decent RELATIVE reading for reflected power. These don't measure "SWR"; they measure reflected power. The readings require you to squint and accept the manufacturer's assumptions.

I had the Ce Bee - 40 in the late 70's I believe . It was end fed , probably cost @ $12.95 .

I have 5 or 6 old CB SWR bridges too of different makes and styles. .Not even sure where they all came from. Probably followed me home from a swap meet "free box"
One like that, as was mentioned, probably cost around $12 to $15 back in the early 70's.

They are different.
SWR is the ratio of the antenna's impedance versus the transmission line impedance I believe. Reflected power is part of that equation. The meter you have will indicate both.
