Hi every one I'm new to the forum I'm a licence uk radio ham in need of some help. A good friend has asked if I could revive his old cb radio. The problem I have is that some of the wireing loom has become degraded and disconected I have no idea were to start. Can any member point me in the direction of a wiring digram for this old radio. Thanks for looking. Hope to contribute to the forum.

I've worked more than a few Galaxy DX, and just one Pluto.
But I used the tune-up info for 99v on the Pluto.

Pluto's biggest issues that I saw? Bad solder joints. Bad solder joints. And more bad solder joints. Some bad caps. Bad solder joints. Two xtals were very weak and got replaced. Bad solder joints

What was particularly unusual about the solder joint failures, was the fact that the solder was a poor grade used in the factory when mfd. You may have to use a bunch of solder wick on this one. You can't add new solder to these joints, unless it helps to remove the old solder. Kinda gummy; weird - never seen anything like it.

Had to remove the old solder and clean the pad, add flux, and then make the new joint. Solder joints are bad because the solder on the board isn't making good contact with the traces. Makes for an intermittent or open joint.

Yeah Roger that it may well be a Baskit case (n)
Naw; go for it. If nothing else, you will get you soldering skill set up a few notches. Like I said, it's basically a Galaxy 99v. Get it working. Check the xtals for stability. Replace caps in the PLL and loop osc circuit to see if that doesn't get the xtals stable. Also the caps in the volt reg circuit too. If not; replace the reference osc xtal and loop xtal . . . That is true for many Galaxy radios - BTW . . . They use cheap xtals in them.

So I've made a start on the radio I've managed to get the radio to power up and most of the basic functions are working. Unfortunately the wireing schematics have some differences I've been using th dh88hl so not ideal.up date to follow.

Check the plus. It is a 6 band radio like the Pluto and should be a bit closer. The plus doesn't have a dual calrifier due to the echo and it doesn't have an SWR meter or variable power. It does have CW where the Pluto does not.
But I still think it should a bit easier to work with.
This link has a picture tour of the Plus.

Here are a couple from the link.

Not relevant, but one of the best export radios I've owned was a Pluto. Laid it on top of my car, forgot, drove away and sent it crashing to the asphalt. Just mutilated it. . .
