CRT SS 7900V Turbo (latest version) Service Mode? (And more tricks)...

I'd been fiddling in the menu in a moment when I'd be better being sleeping instead.
Uh Oh. Really no reason to be in the service menu as those radios are bang on right out of the box. As Shadetree said, some menu items require special equipment (ie: signal generator) to get them back to where they should be.
Be aware also that every radio is custom programmed, so many of those service menu settings are different from one radio to the next. Also, there are two different physical versions of that radio, and several different firmwares.
Good luck.

Yes, I'm aware of that. I focused my concernings on items with very different setting values.
Yes, these radio are good right out of the box. I was just trying to adjust the output power at the lowest position of the knob

Sorry, there's something I don't figure out about those settings which require a signal input. Once the ptt is pressed on those, do they wait for any command, or the input is read and stored right when ptt is engaged?

I'd not been very active on air during these Holydays, but I should say the radio is working as usual 'till now. Though I'm even considering to send it out for an accurate check, and re-alignment if needed.

Reading this thread I find some user being confident with service menu settings.
I'd be very grateful @Pez @13OP25 and others
having their opinion about what's discussed since post #116

It's impossible for us to know/guess exactly what you changed, (if anything at all). If the radio is working well for you, with no specific issue you can see, then that is all that matters. Enjoy the rig and keep out of that menu!

If you choose to send if off to someone to check it over / align, you might not see any real difference as they are pretty good right out of the box.

Thanks for your reply and advice.
Definitely I agree, don't fix it if it's not broken is the wiser way to go.

I'd been in the menu trying to set a specific output value in SSB mode with the power knob at the minimum position. Actually I'd been trying to set the minimum output a Watt higher than the default, or around there, but it looks like this is not possible, modifying ch 23 value

I don't want to encourage you or anyone else to mess around with this any further, because the appropriate test equipment is required to do this correctly (scope, tone generators and a PEP reading power meter at a minimum). However, CH-23 is not the correct value for SSB power.

You need:
CH-26 USBPWL (This is SSB LOW power)
CH-27 USBPWH (This is SSB HIGH power)
