When D-11 has been clipped; then VR-4 becomes inactive - as it is bypassed. If you re-solder D-11; then VR-4 will adjust once again . . .

if you re read i've try adjusting vr-4 left to right no change on modulation on meter

If you also re-read my post; you will see that it is because D-11 has be clipped/'deactivated' that VR-4 won't work.

Or did I write it wrong?

If VR-4 doesn't change; then either the solder job to re-connect D-11 didn't take - or D-11 needs to be replaced because it is bad/gone open . . .

It is very possible D11 is open causing your problem. Since that was already cut / replaced, double check it to make sure it is good & installed properly.

But to add to things to check; check C73 to make sure it is still in the circuit, make sure it has not been cut / removed. I have had a few that they not only cut D11, but cut or cut out C73 as well & will cause the symptoms you describe. Why do they cut both, beats me.

I was browsing the forums & thought I would throw that in there to check too.

check diode with meter tested good check vr-4 with ohm meter tested good thru up and down i change c-71 and c-73 maybe tr 18 or 17 are bad.??

Seems odd that D-11 was cut - if something else had failed in that circuit - doesn't it?

well just for the hell of it i took tr 18 tr 17 c-71 c-73 c-72 and no change
now here is my thing 1 leg of vr-4 goes to d-8 which is voltage now when i put my meter on one of the opposites leg and i turn the trimmer slowly i see no change in voltage i think the pot is 500 ohms which i don't have any
does this makes sense for vr-4
