No it is not correctI was told a G5RV would work better on 20m, than just building a 20m dipole, is this correct ?....
Google fan dipole and build one.Just looking to get a wire up for the 20m band, and maybe 17m band the end fed seems to do well on 40 and 80m bands......
Oatmeal,I don't no, never tried that.....
Only way I see I can hang it to support the middle is not bring it cross the yard.....these 2 tree's are like a 100ft tall I been told..

The G5RV is a multiband compromise antenna. From my experience, its negative gain on most of those bands. Please elaborate. I thought the g5rv had some gain on 20m. Was that some kind of hoax?

G5RV's are a bit of smoke and mirrors, I have never found them to have any gain. I had one up for a while and the current Fan Dipole I have now has better receive and seems to TX better(I don't get overly thrilled about TX performance of any antenna). What people like about them is they are fairly wide banded and easy to put up.Please elaborate. I thought the g5rv had some gain on 20m. Was that some kind of hoax?
