Do insulated wire antennas pick up less static than bare copper?

I purchased a 6m to 80m reciever where can I find a plan for a long wire antenna? Or are the e bay ones ok? You get the insulators and wire .

Rope, Antenna Support, Polyester, Break Strength 770 lbs., 0.187 in. Diameter, 350 ft. Length
This rope is perfect for supporting your wire and vertical antennas, but support rope should NOT be used for tower guying. For your tower guying needs, check out our Tower Guy Lines in the Tower Department here at www.DXEngineering.com

Durability and safety are of prime concern to ensure that an antenna installation remains fully operational for a long time. Antennas and guy lines are exposed to changing weather conditions, mechanical strain, UV radiation, humidity, and more. These non-conductive synthetic fibers have all the necessary qualities: high strength, negligible stretch but good flexibility, long life, low moisture collection, fast-drying, a minimum bending radius adding the ability to tie knots, good UV radiation resistance, weather durability and resistance to acids and alkali.

Do you need a tuner for a receive-only radio?

NO, not really. However, it will be something that can improve weak signals slightly for a receive-only system.
A manual antenna tuner is a good station accessory to have once you have your ticket, just don't buy one randomly as there are many units out there some of which are good and others NOT so good that may fit your needs. Ask first! Then let some give their opinions.
I have 2 different ones I use here, one is a DENTRON MT-2000A and the other is a PALSTAR BT1500A.
All the Best

The 4 inch electric fence insulators work pretty well and you might be able to find them locally. All i did was run a pair of zip ties thru the tubes in opposite directions and secure them to the wire. Some people add glue of some kind but they don't move unless you pull them.

I have rolls of twelve guage stranded and solid wire left from electrical jobs. Is that too heavy
I used scrap pieces of electrical wire for years. The first place I would go to when I was young was some wholesale commercial electrical supply store. Most of them wouldn’t sell to an individual, but sometimes I would get scraps for free after explaining what I wanted it for. I usually made inverted V’s out of it to eliminate some of the stress. Unfortunately most of the scraps were too short, especially for 80 meters. The resultant antenna had a few different colors, types or sized wires that were all soldered together to achieve the desired lengths. While I was on a teenage budget these hodgepodge V’s along with some good used coax given to me by a local ham, all worked great.

I could attach to my cb antenna pole 30' up in an inverted v

Not sure on all the details to make an antenna would buy one but I got grandkids to buy Christmas for. The ladder line connects to each side of the inverted v? Then the radio on the other end? Or is a ladder line a different kind of antenna?
