Does swrs effect reception as well

Connect the FS antenna only when doing field strength testing. I've seen lots of these meters; some give false readings (or at least DIFFERENT readings) on power and SWR when the FS antenna is connected.

By the same token, don't touch the FS antenna port - that may throw your readings off too.
