I want to install dual finals in one of my Superstar 360FM radios. Besides adding the second final, what parts do I have to add/change to complete the installation. I have already upgraded the modulator circuit to the dual final configuration.
Thanks in advance.

all of that info was on cbtricks and since the forum is down you can not pull it up. I did a texas ranger 696f a few years ago. maybe I can find the info for that. mine had the 69610 board in it. DTB radio may have posted it to his site. I will look through my files. I assume it is a bypolar setup you are looking at. the dual mosfet conversion is still on the site.

what I did to put dual finals in mine was looked at a dual final radio with the same board in it and changed all the parts to match the dual final radio and added what was left out. it took a VR for bias adjustments and a jumper to complete the circuit plus what ever parts had been left out. I think I used the 2517 radio to match up with mine since the radio was a dual final unit. the most I ever got out of it was 30 watts after the conversion. to dual finals. the 696 with 1 final only did 18 watts peak to start with.

what board is in your radio? I found the mod for the 360014 board radios. it shows all the parts needed and the locations. could not find the 696010 board. .
if yours is the 360014 board send me your email in a PM and I will send it to you.. this lay out will help you see what is needed for any other board. at least will give you a good idea.

Mine is a Uniden Chassis with the PB-010 board. I have upgraded the AM modulator to drive a dual final circuit. All of the holes for the new parts are already in the board, so Installation should be easy. The only part I see that will not be easy to find is the inductor, but I can make one if need be. I have already upgraded the driver and final in the GTL-Dx to 2SC2166 and 2SC1307, so I will be adding a 2nd 1307.

The schematics show the original GTL-Dx Driver/final. and the Galaxy SSB dual finals. I used the Galaxy SSB because it was one of the original clones of the Uniden PB-010.

My wife and I are opening another Hotel/Restaurant and we want a radio there. Our other business has an pumped-up Johnson Messenger 250, and I have my TRC-457 at our new farm. This way all three places can communicate at the same time.

Thanks for your help. If time permits, I will do a full write up on this . 73s Mi amigo.

by just looking at what is in the dual final and then see what you need to put in the single board is very easy. that was the way I did my TR696f radio. just make sure you do not miss a jumper that most radios need to complete the circuit.

I did a 959b going off of the 2517 as well, very similar to the 696f and the end result was only about 36-37 watts pep. On the other hand I did a 44v (360014b) copying the 33hp and got about 45 pep. There's something I'm missing on the 69610z. Not to derail the thread but I notice I'm not the only one receiving less than satisfactory results from the 696 board

Kopcicle that is the link to the schematics and other radio items such as service manuals. the actual forum is down and a lot of stuff has been lost since that portion is down.
the portion down is like this forum where you can talk to each other. the cbtricks talk forum is down with all the great info lost.

Here's a pic of the driver/final part of the PB-010 board. The holes and the screen printing for the second final are already on the board. It makes me wonder what plans Uniden had for this board down the line. But the FCC told them to forget about getting their regular cb line type-accepted unless they got out of the export radio biz, and Uniden hasn't manufactured an export radio since. Really too bad. An export cobra base radio using this board would have been a killer.
