Band was great today....and still open as I type this note!
Europe was hot on 10 meters this morning with a bunch of pile ups on anyone calling CQ and not contesting. Had to hand up the mic until this afternoon and decided to see what was working.....glad I did. 10 meters was on!
Worked QRP from the water front.....finding a open frequency was a challenge.
LU7YZ Argentina
CA7CAQ Chile
VE4TG Canada
JJ2LPG Japan
JA0MVW Japan
YB0NFL Indonesia
JA8COE Japan
VE7WF Canada
All with 5 watts mobile.......heard a ru Russian on 28.485 at 10 over s9 not his call frequency so I was not able to make contact.
Made a 10 watt contact to Canary Islands this morning, and a s Africa Sahara desert station ZS3Y with 100 watts. Good Dx day here, hope y'all have also. 73

All nice contacts for a mobile station. One note;the ZS3Y would not have been in the Sahara Desert but rather the Kalahari Desert. The Sahara is a few thousand miles to the north. ZS3Y is in the southern part of the Kalahari.

This ends today's geography lesson.

This morning was good many contacts.....decided to work total QRP this morning? Great contacts I'll update this evening.....10 is/was open wide!<More audio>.....

Contacts this morning all QRP 5 watts mobile.....conditions were good. Some pile ups were just to much with the high power stations calling but I managed these. Good luck and good Dx

These are 10 meter QRP 5 watts contact this afternoon and evening. the post above is the log from this morning. I'm amazed at what 5 watts can do, several contacts gave me 5/5-5/9 reports. I know conditions dictate the Qso's many times but working the last couple days STAYING at QRP power has really been an eye opener. I turned up during a couple QSO to 70 watts or so to see if they saw any change.....answer was not enough difference, 5/3 up to 5/4 very little.

Try it you will see an added twist to our hobby, 73 good Dx

10 has been wide open.....20 is somewhat slow here? I took down a 40 mtr dipole and replaced it with a delta loop....need to cut it some to get it resonant....not sure it's going to stay...depends on where it tunes on the bands.
May turn it into a 2 element moxon ? Experimenting philpoh to get the right wire up for multi band ops....but having a blast on 10 QRP....last club meeting a local ham with 15-20 years QRP did a lecture....has a screwdriver type vertical he uses .....really got my interest due to saltwater/vertical applications and efficiency of vertical adjacent to the saltwater. If the loop? Moxon my expectations...may try a vertical. I've worked some 20 meter dx but with ten being so hot it hard to with the antenna issues...
I will in time get it all sorted out.

Last couple days the ones I logged all QRP.....I'm really getting into the mode?
Work the Russian station tonite QRP....recalled him a few minute later with 70-100 watts....signal only went up s5 to s6...1 unit made not difference to him! Really good contact we the Cyprus contact was a QRP to QRP this morning. Listened tonite to a Philippine station and several Australian/New Zealand and multiple Japan ops. Few European station heard today
