Lite Fluffy Snow is one thing(as pictured)…
Wet heavy Snow/ ICE is another...weather in Midwest!!!~...
High Winds/Sleet/Freezing rain/Frozen Fog etc..
All wreck havoc on Quad designs, Yes they work very well!
However maintenance and repair make them somewhat impractical.
Small Quads for 2m and 440 designs can be made ridged enough to stand the strain and work well.
Be interesting to see how long it stays up in Mich. weather before it requires a rework.
I do love the 18db difference between the G5RV and the 2 element array he had up when he made the vid. A little surprised it was not more! :)
All the Best

Look at the picture closely and notice all the support ropes coming from the overhead boom to at least 2 points on each side of the loops. Then more support ropes between the loops. Would have been interesting to see on the ground and how it got to the top.

Got a friend who made his beam out of discounted telescoping painters poles from ace hardware. Wasn't pretty, he just puts whatever is laying around together, re-used scrap parts mainly. But that thing worked great.....then Hurricane Harvey decided to dance. It's now in the scrap project pile behind the barn.
