End fed 40/80 help

Friend has this 40/80 antenna and I am a bit confused on how to feed this thing.
The coax just plugs in to it there is no unun or balun on the end or a way to attach a counterpoise.

your tuner should have a single contact for end-fed type antennas, might have a jumper you have to remove. The coil should be on the far end from your radio - tuner

Yeah but the antenna has a so 239 connector???

Who ever built it failed to provide a counterpoise wire on the SO 39 connector "ground" side, from the pic ,I can't tell if the SO 239 has screws holding it to the rectangular center piece.

It's only half an antenna as it is built. try adding a counterpoise wire to one of the screws.

thats what i told him so i gave him 50' of wire and told him to put it to his fence or water pipe for now and see how it works..
I guess he got this thing new and lost the doc it legit came in a bag. When i seen it i told him this thing don't make any sense it needs a center piece..
