Gentlemen ...
My wife and mother went estate sale-ing and bought me this.
The mics Broken internally but got it to work temporily for test.
Well over 100% audio on stock mic.
Keys 3.5 swings 11.
Old Korean Dynascan radio.
BUT its a 5 pin. I need a 4 pin cobra to 5 pin DIN COBRA adapter if anyones knows where one is for sale or has seen one.
I dont believe they are wired like the realistics so no those adapters probably won't work.
Searching for advice and tune up info on this crusty but gutsy.

Don't laugh too hard. Those 19X Dynascans do talk well. I had DTB put a MOSFET final in one for me years back. It had the 5 pin DIN connection for the mic. I remember the PTT button on the mic was gray. The body of the mic was black. It talked well. I think DTB still has the instructions for the MOSFET final on his website. I would suggest checking E-bay for a mic. You may have better luck than searching for an adapter.

This mic vs adapter is probably true but defeats my idea of running the D104 on it.
I run adapers on all radios and my mics are all 4 pin cobra so I can swap any mic to any rig.
MOSFET final sounds trick I'll have to look into that.

you will have trouble getting a regular mike to fit that radio,,, that is why the ptt button is gray,, it has some kind of special circuit,, i have had a couple of the 5 pin din cobra 19 and i gave up trying to get a regular mike fit and work,,,, it has to be a gray button mike,,,, midland has the same radio with the same problem it has a gray button mike,,, an adapter will not work,,,, been there done that,,,,, oh the 19x has several models so be sure when looking at a schemetics that you have the right ones,,, cobra 19x 5 pin din,, cobra 19x front 4 pin mike ,, cobra 19xs side mike 4 pin,,

Well I'll wire till they work.
Ive read this chassis is the same as a maxon and in theory Maxon and realistic are pinned the same for 5 pin din. Also my PTT is not grey. Standard black Cobra 5 pin DIN. Perhaps you're thinking of all those Chinese Cobras.
If that's wrong ill just pull the adapter apart and rewire it till it works. (Should be here mid next week) and radio is a 19X 5 pin DIN.
Had it and mic apart cleaning and contact cleaner switches pots etc.

Still cleaning it up but little audio beast is kicking. Well over 120% mod with the original mic (once I cleaned the switch up)
"9 dolla Monsta" is what I've named her.

This is def NOT electret.
Figured out RV 201 is mod related in this chassis. Didnt develop much more peak power at 16-17 watts when done but the audio is straight slamming with the original dynamic 500 ohm mic. Now to get the d104 behind it lol.
@midnight special now we know. Your grey was electret same problem Im facing with the President Lincoln II+ nothing likes it either.
Bright side along with Magnum 257 HP in the closet I now have enough radios and mics to survive the chip-pocalypse.

Yea those darn gray button mic radio's are a pain, that was the only mic that would ever work when I messed with them years ago. Good luck.

After many burnt fingers, swearing and rewiring both ends of 5 pin din adapter ...
"9 dolla monster" is capable of all mics but the Turner plus 3. It hates that one with a passion. Likes the d104.

Hello guys, not trying to jump the topic here, I just wanted to let yall know I've finally found a replacement for them Grey button mics. There is a seller on eBay who offers them in a 4 pin and 5 pin cobra configuration. They go for 20 a pop and sound great. Attached Pic for comparison. Hope this helps someone.

It’s sometimes tedious and a little extra work, but I always change the radios jack over to the 4 pin Cobra standard. It usually requires a little chassis hole enlargement with a Dremel tool, pin extensions are sometimes required , and some J.B Weld often seals the deal. I love it when many of these 5 pin Din jacks like your 19X use only 4 pins. Notice that pin 3 and 4 are tied together inside the radio, but pin 3 is not being used inside the mic.
5 Pin Din jack:
Pin1 = Audio
Pin 2 = TX
Pin 5 = RX
Pin 4 = Shield and Common.

4 Pin Cobra:
Pin 1 = Shield and Common
Pin 2 = Audio
Pin 3 = TX
Pin 4 = RX
