They finally paid him a visit and he started playing mobile rambo. I figured he had other things going on at the house and didn't want the police coming around.
The cop says "tell it to the judge..."I guess that can happen with anything. A cop could misinterpret the law and you'll have to get it straightened out in court....or fight it on the street and make the 10:00 news.

Just had to renew my Illinois FOID (firearm owner identification card) If we stay here and that's a big IF we stay in Illinois a little longer I have to posses this to own a firearm or even buy ammo. Hopefully my job takes me out of the Nazi police state of Illinois for good.. we shall see..
Yup cross the river and pretty much everything goes down. Gas, tobacco, alchohol, property taxes. One thing seems to go up.. public school test scores. We have a slew of gas stations and tobacco shops all set up as soon as you cross into Missouri and Kentucky. I dont smoke anymore but the difference is astronomical. $30 less for a carton. Gas drops 40-60 cents a gallon. Alchohol is about the only thing that's not a huge drop. Guess they figured it's best for the residents of Illinois to stay drunk so they dont care about living in Illinois..
But but but.. weed is legal now. You should see the taxes on that stuff!! Anyway didn't mean to completely throw this thread off the rails.

This is different as there are local laws governing firearms, but nothing about what radio equipment is legal or not. That is all determined at the federal level.
The enforcement ability may have been allocated to local authorities, but 99.999% of them will not do anything about it because A) they don't have the resources to deal with non-violent stuff like this and B) they don't know anything about what would be legal or not. They just don't have the requisite training or resources to enforce the laws/rules that are out there.
I would add that they probably don't care either.
The worst thing I have seen from local law enforcement concerning CB radio is a friend that was running a 12 tube Phantom.
His Galaxy 99 had been buchered and it splattered to beat all hell.
After several complaints the Cheif of police went over and they came to an agreement that he would not fire up the phantom until after 10 PM.
I have been involved in several enforcement actions over the years and have never seen the mystical FCC removing all of the radio equipment and running it over with a truck.
They are too interested in money.

I get job offers weekly from recruiters needing planners or related petro chem field up in Illinois. No thank you! Funny shit is they aren't paying any money either. I laugh at them. You want me to come all the way up there for 4 to 6 months and you aren't paying any real money? Ha. Besides, there are states I refuse to work in due to the laws concerning the 2nd Ammendment.

There are some "Barney Fifes" in law enforcement that think they have control over a person with a valid "Amateur Radio License Some In The Ham Community Has Told Them To Where To Go To (In Not So Nice Words)". But what else can anyone expect from communities that hire "Corruptio The Bought And Paid For Law Enforcement Officer Or The New Idiot That Wants To Change Traffic Flow Or Change The Names Of Strteets". Trust me communities has got to the point where there arent hiring quality people.
