Don't forget your next chance to sit on your lazy butts this next Coronafest weekend and make some good contacts. Sharpen your pens and wipe the salsa spit off your microphones. It's ARRL Yearly Annual (n) Field Day (y)
If you are in fact stuck at home, be reminded that the ARRL has waived the D Rule this year and is allowing D stations (home on commercial power) to contact and score each other - so there's absolutely no reason not to join in on the big ham sandwich. I have a good generator though which needs its routine maintenance run so I will be operating 1E for the funs of it.

I'll be hoping for 6m/2m opening thru out the weekend...doubtful I'll spend much time on HF...beings I won't be "Field Bound"
Yes, a good time to sharpen your skills and enjoy a somewhat more relaxed Contest type activity. Many times I slow the pace to ask the Field sites they're actual location.(y)
Plus ask band usage, equipment, antennas always neat to see what some have put together for the trip.:D This normally gives other op's a chance to "zero" on a site, and get that group some extra points.
Always keep an "Ear" to the bands for young operators and YL's to pass out a few points.
If I do venture to HF for much time likely I'll check out the CW subsections and try to give some slower speed operators some needed points.
ENJOY
All the Best
Gary

Also if you belong to club that is not setting up this year due to covid, you can submit your home logs to your club. That way your club can submit a lg to the ARRL

Gonna try portable QRP one person battery powered. That is a 1B class, correct?
As in

K5HBB 1B AR

If I have the patience for being ignored for 5 watts or less signal.

Any Field Day'rs in Central Indiana now are getting DROWNDED...T-Storms and big downpours right now...Looks like it will continue for at least several hours.
I had seen newspaper articles about a few set-ups taking place locally.
Been there - Done that on Field Day, makes for lousy start to a really fun event.
Too bad, with everyone having cabin fever and the virus BS raising it's ugly head again.
This may end some attempts for even the boldest to get out and operate.
All the Best

I got on the air for a little while at ~7:00 PM.
I heard a lot, called a lot, but my separator was not working. Every time my 3 watt signal was heard and call returned I was surprised. Bands that were active were like 27.385 LSB on a rare band opening.
I used this setup with a quickly thrown together matcher from stuff laying around.

Yeeowzers  Great propagation !! this weekend on 10 meters like we've had for about the last 3 weeks. All I have is 10M at the moment so I worked what I had LOL. Wasn't doing much of anything else so put some time in at it and made 159 Contacts !! From my place in Dixieland I got north into Ontario, South to Puerto Rico and west to Colorado. Most contacts I've ever sat for on one event. Had a great time!
How about y'all ? Running 150 watts pep from my Galaxy 94HP into a 1/2 wave vertical. Good times

As soon as the noise was over I worked Costa Rica on 20 meters.I Avoid Contests like the Plague & had I been on I'd have stayed on the WARC Bands where No Contesting is permitted or on the Magic Band but not working any contest stations. It's like working Digital modes to me & that's as exciting as watching the grass grow in Alaska in mid December. No my bag of rocks for sure.Hope someone had fun without me.
