I have run both the Wilson and the Firestick in 5 foot length. Good performance with both. I like the tune-ability of the Firestick with the screw end. Plus, if you ever find yourself needing a good whompin' stick, they work good for that too! ^^ ab v c^^

how do you all fill about a 4 foot fire stick on a gumdrop mount on the trunk I have the mount installed just looking for a good antenna to put on it I know its not the best place for a mount but that is what I got to deal with

The more the antenna sticks above the roof line the better. Depending on how flimsy the metal on the trunk is, go with the longest antenna possible. 4 ft firestik probably won't get you down the interstate very far.

overal just my opinion but in that loacation i think i would use a fibreglass dv27 top load, lo cost thin and work pretty good and top loaded.
wont stress your bodywork or mount. wont stand out too much.easy to add a spring a quick release or 180 degree adjustable mount. its a classic! or a flexy style wilson helical wound type theyre a bit like the old dx27 so a bit thicker than the smooth dv27 but not as heavy/thick as the fs. they seem ok and very strong.

i am not sure if you can still get them but the best helical wound ant i had was a clear coated antron mobile around 4 foot

I have Dx'ed across the country when I was using my my 3 ft FS 2 Firestick. That have the uses. I put mine on when 4 wheeling. I run a 10k normally. I do not have a problem with the stick. Always tunes low swr, and handles the 200 watts I put through it.
