FT 857-D

I converted 3 of the 857D's and I use a battery powered soldering pen I bought at Home Depot with very thin electronic solder. Makes it VERY EASY

I knew that would bring a response from you Pat. ;) I have seen a couple radios however that looked like the 100 watt AB was used on them. :shock:
 
If you notice, It only took Hammer 22 min to respond to my request for help. My radio was sent out today.

    So I have a cobra 138xlr and the meter dose not work... It dose not key up and signal dose not work.... It is not stuck it the meter moves freely. now wires are resoldered on both ends...So now that do I look at. Could it be a diode or a transistor?
