If you are wanting to have a Panadapter on the FT-950 you will need to get the interface board and install internally.

Then you can connect something like an LP-Pan or SDR-IQ to complete.

You will most likely get a cold solder joint. When soldering you need to heat the joint as well as the solder in order to get it to flow correctly
