Right here ,

I have a Yaesu FTA-850 that I want to connect to my BLUETHOOT Sena SF2 my as by chance my radio does not find the SF2. So i thought i should update my radio

As I log into my PC I have this famous error: Timeout !! (FirmVer) and I can't even read what's on the radio

I am speculating issue is with Bluetooth device not radio.

Did you ever find a way to program your FTA-850 via the software (YCE46)?

I ran into the same problem with the "Timeout!! (FirmVer)".

Tried on both Windows 10 Enterprise 64bit and Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

Turning the radio on in "CP Mode" by pressing Squelch + Power on,
then starting the YCE46 CPS and trying to read from the radio,
and the text "PC Connected" appears in the display of the radio,
then shortly after, the message "Timeout!! (FirmVer)" pops up on the screen.

No other error message.

The problem with the operating system language.

This sometimes happens when the regional format is different from American English.

The only solution, for the moment, is to change the "Country or Region" and the "Regional Format" to English US.

Today I found a solution to the problem (at least with myself), but I'm sharing it with you. Windows 11 Pro with Polish interface. In the regional settings, I changed the decimal separator to a period and, which was also important, the digit grouping separator to a comma. I then started the radio in CP Mode and ran YCE46. Everything worked. Interestingly, I again reverted to the decimal separator as a comma and the period as a grouping separator and it still works.
