Galaxy 959 Comes With 1n5711 From Factory

I bought a new Galaxy 959 (4/14 manuf date) and it appears to already have the upgraded schottky diodes and 2SB817 amp stock from the factory. Anyone else get one recently and notice this?

Got it from Amazon, it was listed as new and there are no referb stickers on it.

On closer inspection, someone definitely modded this and returned it, the diodes aren't very well placed and the solder joints are shiny... This thing is definitely going back, not going to trust that it isn't messed up.

The BRAND new bought still in box with untouched plastic 959 that I have been working on recently also had 1n5711 in the D1-2 and D30-31 spots. Few other spots as well. MANF Date of 12/12. A few other spots have the 1nf711 as well.

That could very well be, But none the less you still have to watch out or becareful as the last couple of years Ive had a few people telling me about getting refurbs when indeed they ordered new!! The best one that comes to mind was a local guy that bought or ordered a BRAND NEW Magnum 257HP when the radio arrived there were issues with its functioning but the best part was the radio had already received the 11 meter modification he found this out when powering the radio up!!! It was a very reputable wholesaler that I use and I was shocked!!

There are many complaints and cases of this out there from many places HNY Electronics, Copper electronic ETC. I dont mind a refurb as all the bugs are worked out and whats the differenc if you got it malfunctioning and sent it in? Your ending up with a refurb or radio that has been re-gone through. But atleast charge me a refurbished product price!! Not a brand new never out of the box price!! Thats lying or cheating plain and simple!!

Unless Galaxy upgraded the 959,they come with a 2sb827.
