Hi have been searching the web for some info on channel mod using crystals for the Galaxy 959 and such radios that use the same pc board or pll configuration.
Some info I have is that xtal 3 >15.360mhz is the one to change and either add a 15.810mhz for high or a 14.910 for low channels would this info be correct?
If not can someone supply the correct xtals frequencies to do a xtal mod.

thanks

I don't own a Galaxy radio of any stripe, but those numbers look right to me. 14.910 MHz would put you at 450 kHz (45 channels) lower and 15.810 MHz would put you at 450 kHz (45 channels) higher.

That's assuming that the 15.360 MHz you're talking about is the is the loop downmix frequency like it is on some of the Uniden chassis that use the uPD858, uPD861, uPD2824, etc. I think some LC7120 chassis used the same downmix scheme as well.

Yes the 15.360 is the loop down mix crystal Same as the cobra 29s and yes the 858 861 pll radios.
I'm more so trying to see if the 14.910 and 15.810 are the correct frequencies to add 80 extra channels

thanks
