Anyone have or has run one??? I am curious how reliable they are and if they work good on sideband or if they have the typical galaxy oscilator problems???

I run one,had mine for over a year with no problems and i love it!Power wise mine peaks out at 200 watts with loud crisp clear audio. The receive is strong, just as good or better than any radio out there.Side band performance seems to be good although i dont talk a lot of side band, mostly am.If you go with one shop around!Alot of shops out there have them for over $450.00 but i got mine for $375.00.So if you want one pm me and i will tell you were i got mine.

I have a customer who swears by them. Every time I see him or talk to him, he tells me how happy he is with it since I retuned it for him. No SSB drift, tons of modulation and power, and with the added amp-disable switch, he frequently uses it to run external amps. Incidentally, he's one of those New Jersey boys who seem to have unlimited range and gets out over everything (according to all the truck drivers I hear coming from that area, lol!) At any rate, its a good radio, with a good reputation.

95T

I bought a 95t form R&R in delaware i had the switch installed to turn the amp off , It was loud radio just basic peak and tune i was gettin 150-200 watts am 200 ssb it was a nice radio . I sold it to some guy for $525 he wanted it that bad . so i bought a 2950dx and installed my davemade amp.

Ive got one and love it. My only complaint is that if you are running with someone down the road it is just too much radio for close talking. Even turned down its too much. Id be interested in adding that switch too DTB

By recommendation of a fellow member here, I am seriously looking into this radio. DTB, could you pm me with a quote on switch installation, as well as a proper tune job?

As much as I dislike the newer 636L's, its what I'd recommend for that radio. The 575 mentioned by another poster woulod actually be my first choice, but they are hard to find, and out of production.

The amp switch mod involves cutting the black wire of the amp relay control jumper, and inserting a switch. its the two-wire connector coming from the amp assembly that plugs into the main board right in front of the final-driver circuit.
