I have running a stock 99V2 for over 2 years in a big truck with good results on SSB. Recently took it to The Radio Shop in Ontario, Ca for a complete alingment, fine clairafier unlocked, and a RFX 150. Cause I can. LOL Sometimes when it cool it needs to warm up on SSB. This radio is pretty stable. Get good complaments all the time. Thank's again for the radio Mudfoot!

I had a Galaxy DX-979 with the external freq counter and it was great on AM and SSB with no drift issues. I sold it because I wanted to upgrade to the New DX99V2 and had the same problem on SSB just did not like too hard to tune . Didn't like the clairafier set up at all. I wanted a radio with all the Bells and whistles and it has it all but just was let down by the quality of SSB. Sold it for The Optmia MK3 and a Icom SM-30 desk mic as a base set up. Works great. For export with SSB Optmia,Ranger 2950 is your best bet.

in my personal experience ive had better luck NOT unlocking the fine. and just let it be. it still did drift but at least when i did have to use the fine it didnt mess with my tx. i never tried having them married/tied together that may help.
