General lee vs cobra 29 mosfet

I would go with the Cobra 29 if I were you simply because the Homeland Security now looks for exports at weight stations and will have to sent to Guantanamo for merely possessing it in a commercial vehicle.
Yeah.......right!!! Been trucking for 40 years and have NEVER had
an export radio taken from me at any weigh station. Had one stolen once
while in a truckstop in California once!!!
But, the weigh station guys are not interested in CB radios, export or not.

For real.
They are more interested in looking to see if you missed 15 min of off time in your log, or if you have too much play in the slack adjuster.
The FCC has authority over radio at a federal level ( and they do not have the manpower to have some one sit at the scale house drinking coffee all day) , and there is NO law on the books that makes it Illegal to OWN a export radio......If some one tries to convince you otherwise, I know a lawyer that could use a few more coins in his vacation fund.

Let me see your Log book Driver! You are in California now Driver, and you will not drive 58 Miles an Hour on my Freeway, do you understand me Driver? You sit right there, I am calling dispatch and we are getting a DOT unit over here with the portable scales, that steer tire on the drivers side looks bald, did you do a pre trip this morning Driver???

Spoken like a True Trucker.

I've never heard a GL that sounded bad. Probably still the #1 choice of truck drivers. And you have the built in channels and FM too. I don't see the point in spending all this money modifying and adding things to a 29 when you get all these features and more in an Export.

Radioactive radios can make one sound bad for an $80 charge, if he is not too busy!!!!!!
I have one with 1969s stored in the closet, no complaints with the GL......the echo/reverb makes these sound loud.
