Been gone from home three weeks. As I tend to over-supply myself when on the road, didn’t need much.

Today went into Wally for my last errand stop before home. Located in a nice part of the metro.

No paper products. No plastic trashbags. And, no bottled water worth buying.

Plenty of other missing.

The selfishness of these parasites shows their true character when it matters. Just as I have to deal with it on the road.

No eggs.

Almost no milk.

I’m glad I found some of my staple canned and dry favorites. So I bought more than usual. Have a bit more at home. Still . . $400 of food & supplies is almost double what I normally spend.

Can’t trust the untrustworthy not to make things even worse.

Gee, should I be I glad I bought toilet paper last time home. (?).

No. It wasn’t Americans who screwed things up.

And it won’t be us breaking into cars, buildings and homes it gets worse.

Tattoos & tee shirts? Time for an upgrade.
Looking like felonious riff-raff is gonna mean problems.

The pinhead druggies I see concentrated in places in KY, OH, FL no one
is gonna miss.

Grocery stores around here are doing just fine. No shortages.
Seen some folks in stores with home made masks on, which is a good idea too.

Just watching DVD movies and occasionally watching CNN to marvel at the L.P.S. ('lies per second'). Fox news seems to be keeping an even keel, so I listen to their reporting. If/when they go off the deep end, then you can know it might be getting bad.

OK, back to another exciting episode of CSI Las Vegas.

I’m glad I found some of my staple canned and dry favorites. So I bought more than usual. Have a bit more at home. Still . . $400 of food & supplies is almost double what I normally spend.

That’s my three weeks OTR supply. As even high-priced truck stops are low.

I appreciate the shoulder jab. Did sound (and feels) like rationalization. Deserved that.

But can I trust that in three weeks it won’t be any better? Worse?

There’s more at home now than before. About a weeks worth. Was there a wife present at same, I’d imagine it’d be a great deal more.

No real backstop what with having two houses to supply.

I’d much rather that $150+ went towards having “radio” at all three locations of the two trucks and the trailer. Am closer, though.

I'm not convinced of that. The Covid-19 virus is about 0.125 micron in size. Even the standard health workers N95 mask has holes 0.3 microns in size. This only limits possible transfer to about 20%. Most homemade masks especially those simply made of cotton have holes MUCH bigger and only offer a false sense of security at most. I see people with a scarf over their face which does nothing. Others are using a particulate mask like a painter or drywaller would use which would be marginally better than nothing with most of the benefit being that it prevents one from touching their face.

Absolutely right. But when several layers are used, the fact that the air direction would have to take several turns means more interference and absorption. But like you said, it is a false sense of security to think that you would be 100% safe. Not even full on hazmat suits are 100% safe, although they come as close as possible. Always one prick away from safety, lol.

My Mom told me that if possible gas attack was imminent in WWII (a nurse at the time), that she had been instructed to get out her handkerchief, piss on it, and breathe through that until you could get upwind of the attack. That would save you from the mustard gas. Guess no one is short of piss at a time like that - eh?

Cowboy Bob was in the the Mesquite, TX SPROUTS grocery next to the Harbor Freight I stopped at yesterday.

Coffee-strainer moustache, faded red Henley undershirt, sagging Levi’s held up by dented rodeo buckle and stuffed into knee-high rider-heel western boots.

A Stetson worthy of Tom Mix.

Didn’t look like a clown. Or was the rodeo clown at the world-famous Mesquite Rodeo.

Until a bandanna was affixed as if he was riding drag.

Well, I cruised the store as it “may” have had some things I wanted. Grocery shopping in a bobtail Peterbilt ain’t recommended. So, if something is next door, better go use it.

I wound up in the checkout line next to him. Commented how I keep a pair of bandannas in rear pockets. All purpose.

Static charge remains after clothes dryer and catches every particle of dust within a two-meter radius. I’d hang one from a visor in the oilfield Pete after offloading talcum powder-consistency barite.

He didn’t look happy at that in his bank robber getup.

I had to practice a straight face before starting.

Worth every controlled muscle-twitch.

I think the general reason that they say the regular masks are ineffective is to keep people from hoarding them. My first concern is with the projectile spittle from someone's cough or sneeze. A regular mask will take care of this and I wear glasses so straight line projectiles would be stopped. If I was in a place with multiple people that were infected, then I could understand how the smallest particles of virus might be floating around to get through a simple mask. But at that point I would expect it to get in my eyes so goggles or a full face mask would be needed in my opinion. I see video of medical workers risking their lives to get the job done, while wearing the good masks with no eye protection or a simple face shield. To me the eyes are just as vulnerable.
