As long as you can hide it so that you don't catch @#$$, it would certainly be better than not having an antenna at all. Give it a shot. It won't really 'hurt' anything if you want to experiment with the antenna, try different locations, angles, 'camo' paint. Plants/vines/etc. on the antenna isn't exactly a good idea. Depending on the time of year and all that, they can certainly change the antenna's 'tune' drastically. Know where you can find some of those 'plastic' flowers/vines? Then you got'a garden appliance, not an antenna!
