Hi all,

I am looking at buying a set of assorted tips for my Hakko 936 soldering station, and im coming across SOOO many off-branded tips that all swear to be the real deal.

I usually buy my tips one at a time locally, but was hoping to save a few bucks as they aren't cheap!

I also am noticing that a lot of the tips im finding that come in a Hakko package, are labeled as tinned with lead free solder.

this is the first time ive come across tips like this and am wondering if these are compatible with leaded solder or not. i would think they would be fine, but wanted to check with someone who might have more experience in this area.

so, has anyone found a non-hakko branded tip that works like the original?
does anyone have any experience with the lead-free tinned tips?

thanks for any info.

Non Hakko brand tips that fit the 936 series of irons will not last as long.
The plating on the Hakko tips is more durable.
You can use any solder you choose, they will work..
