What doesn’t seem right to me is the variations in cost. If you get insurance on your own it cost X amount. If you get it at work on a group plan it's less. There's a girl at work that's getting a job with the state, and her premium is free ! It should be the same cost for everyone.

This whole thing about the extremely high cost of this health plan can be blamed on gov't inefficiency, waste, and corruption. Then there is the corruption involved in the GM/gov't bailout. I really am beginning to think that our reps are trying to cause this country to fail. They surely aren't trying to protect and preserve it. The health care program - another blood sucker designed as an enlightened health plan tainted with corruption and waste - is just another means to weaken this country and ultimately attempt to destroy it.
If one must look for corruption; don't be premature and only get a part of it. Or else it will grow back stronger and more wiley. You must find the core of it. The motive, the means, the people, and the method. Whoever or whatever they are, they are skilled and are being careful to not expose themselves. They also possess great wealth and political power to use to this end. However, the evidence can be seen in our elected reps - by the lack of vigilance to protect and a lack of interest to preserve. I am honestly beginning to wonder if our reps are being blackmailed and coerced. I am serious - this is serious.

Are so called reps think we are stupid and not paying attention to what is going on, and up till this election they where right, but I think people are paying more attention now and are sick of all the Bullshit!! Lets hope so or IMO this country is done for

Here in california we have an option of workmans compensation insurance provided by the state. Its provided for businesses who might not be able to afford to buy that insurance from a private carrier. But i dont see any crying from the private insurers about having to compete with the state of california.
The democrats health plan is an option. It doesnt force anyone out of private health insurance. Its just an option for a person who may not be able to get health care thru the current private insurance options. The root problem is there are uninsured people out there who put off health care until its too late, and then end up in the emergency room where its very expensive. So the idea is to care for those people when the costs are low and keep them out of the expensive emergency care.
Besides isnt the VA socialized medicine? or is that different because its our military servicemen?

we don't have health care in this country, we have disease management. FDA regulations state that only a drug can cure a disease and if you believe that you're lost. if you believe that health care is a right and it's governments responsibility to provide it for you then you're irresponsible. what you do have is the right to be responsible for your own health. government has proven time and time again that they can't solve any problems.
speaking as one of millions that don't have any health insurance, quite frankly i don't want any. doctors don't know anything about health and the majority of them are nothing more than AMA certified drug pushers. the only difference between most doctors and some guy peddling heroin out on the street is the expensive offices and the white coats.
i haven't been to a doctor in over thirty years because i haven't found a doctor that knows more about my (or anyones) health than i do.
if any of you actually knew what it took to live a disease free life you wouldn't want government health care either.
if our government and the pharmaceutical companies actually gave a rats ass about public health they wouldn't be feeding us poisonous prescription drugs and antibiotics, and it wouldn't cost but a fraction of what the average individual spends in this country annually for what they laughingly refer to as health care to actually BE HEALTHY! unfortunately for all of you who are stuck in this paradigm the only thing the pharmaceutical companies DO care about is their primary fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders. providing real health care simply isn't profitable, on the other hand trillions of dollars annually are theirs for the taking as long as an unsuspecting public remains sick and diseased and a sick population is a lot easier to CONTROL.
my significant other and myself (together) spend less than $1,500 a year and we're actually healthy. we don't go to doctors or hospitals and we don't take prescription drugs or antibiotics because they poison the blood.

What is the big hurry to pass health care ( and yes it should be affordable for everyone if you want it) with the economy in the shape it is in ?? Our leaders are truely BRAIN DEAD !! This economy is not getting better it is getting worse ,it is not Health care thats ruening it, its our elected Fools ! How about jobs for those out of work and in danger of loosing all that they have (I dont meen those that bought things they damb well new they could not afford ) but just regular folks that have found themselves caught up in this mess brought on by greedy lying BASTARDS .

Personally, me and mine are working dilligently to take care of ourselves and are planning for the future. I don't want anyone else taking that away and I don't expect anyone else to take that away from others that are doing the same and giving it to us.

Private health care can not exist when it's competition is federally subsidized. So you will not have private health care (eventually). Ask Boeing aircraft if they can compete with airbus.

On a trip to Canada to a brewfest, my body decided it was time to pass a kidney stone which it has done 15-18 times before. I have a lot of experience with hospitals. Because I was in Canada (Victoria) I had to go to one of their hospitals. It was mid-evil compared to one of our hospitals.
