help with antenna choice

Moleculo could you grund the ladder to the frame? Just use a good type coax? If you dont tow a car you could run small pipe coming off a reese hitch. Slide on a towing hitch to the conector and run the pipe from there.
 
I always thought a ground plane was more than just running a ground wire to chassis?


I know antenna benefits from a good ground. Dont ground plane antennas need more than a wire tied to a chassis so they work correctly???
 
What you're doing is turning the whole frame into your groundplane. On a motor home, it's a little too far from the antenna, but everything is a compromise in this situation. Also, the ladder will give it some counterpoise.
