Help with skipshooter double barrel

meter is good for 200 watts skipshooter rated for 5000 watts I zeroed the meter for the frequency didn't have to change for power level. I was ablet to get the tram to 1.3 across the board fairly quickly tram says 1.3 is the best that antenna will do

Best advice I can give is go with what works. If the tram is working for ya, go with it.

skip shooter stinger all the way down with no amp was a little over 5 swr stinger full extended no amp was 4.5 across the band

What is the SWR at the bottom and top of the band, amp NOT in line?

I did receive a call from Skipshooter today they are sending me a new one with more adjustment.

Based on that, the antenna is too short. Maybe the screwed up the winding in the manufacturing process. Good thing they stood behind it!

the amp is ok.get antenna set rite n it will talk

Got the new antenna today swr was slightly better but still not good the whip was much shorter had 1.1 on 40 and 2.2 on 1. with stinger all the way down I trimmed about 1/8: off swr seemed to go up slightly across the band. It was getting dark so I gave up for the day.

Don't trim anymore, pull the stinger out a 1/2" and recheck post results here.
You want to make it a little longer, not shorter.
