I would like just a Noise Gate unit but nobody makes one that I have ever seen. I could care less about EQ & for sure not about anything with Echo or Reverb.

I have one also. The noise gate is pretty good. Could have done without the echo also.
The Out knob is also good for lowering the swing into a amp.
I have had to open mine to work on a faulty mic jack. Any one want to see the inside.

Can tell it's a pretty neat little design, Don't know why you'd need 10-band EQ for voice, but to each their own - LA3600 PDF attached...

The PT2399 is a straightforward Echo chip - PDF attached.

Now the sad thing is, the "sanded off" IC in there I can easily recognize as a Compandor, part Expander, Part Compressor, but not specific part number. (Sound Tracker from Cobra and its' research I had to do)

Why do I know that? Recognize these multi-function chips - because these devices are "Twinned" as in one side contains all the functions for Expansion, while the other side contains all the support for the Compressor...somewhere in between in all those pins are your Input, Power sourcing and bypass, Output and grounding.

You can so a simple search for Compandor circuits and I came u[p with at least 10 variants. LOL!

I read the instructions & it says,"Please do not dissemble the pedal by yourself." I wonder what they are trying to say? Appears they are anticipating it being taken apart for some reason or another and when you do make sure you have Help. LOL

Two Local Op's I chat with have them , I must say " Pretty Impressive " . They both say " Noise Gate " works well cuts the fan noise out . This will be next Radio related purchase ! Not a Fan of Echo either , every once in a while these 2 get carried away & have to set them straight ! I don't feel like listening to what they say 20X ! But I must admit just a " Tad " of echo seems to enhance there voice quality . I guess you can't use an amplified mic on them because when you do they sound like crap ! Both are using stock hand mic's .Thinking of a getting a non-amplified D-104 for mine when I get one . 73 , Leo

It looks like it has its own gain circuit built into it so you're probably right about not needing a power mike.
