How to seal coax with ring terminals?

If one of those sealing products cleans up fairly easy, I wouldn't be opposed to sealing the whole thing. There isn't much room when I drop the headliner down, and it would be hard to clean up. I silicone the top and bottom of the puck, but there is still a possibility of moisture getting inside a putty type seal and you'd never be able to see it.

I just used a good coat of NO-OX-ID on the rings, bolts and metal to metal surfaces. I will use the tape and silicone trick on my dipole next week though, that's pretty genius.

... and aluminum too.

the stuff you want is dow corning 3145 and or 3140.

If it smells like pickles,............. Don't use it

If you use a layer of electrical tape first tape there is no issue. Been doing it for three decades with a problem. It makes removal MUCH easier too as the silicone does not adhere to the metal parts of the connector that way.

You could also use Rescue Tape. It is a self sealing silicone tape used for wire, plumbing and other repairs.

Just follow up with an outer layer of good electrical tape like Scotch 88. That Rescue tape is not UV stabilized. I found that out the hard way when it deteriorated and crumbled away in a year or two.
