Hugo Is DEAD

It is true that he has helped other poor countries while his people suffer, however, the underlying motive is to promote communism and socialism.
he did this to the u.s.a. by sending heating oil to poor people, especially in alaska.

"But whoever emerges as the next leader of Venezuela, an OPEC member that sits on the world's second-largest oil reserves, will have a powerful economic incentive to make that a top priority."

"There has been no indication from the country's national oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela, S.A., or PDVSA, whether it will invite more foreign investment or increase its own investment in new production. But Chavez held such sway over the company's direction that his death means the direction could change dramatically."

just have to wait and see how it will turn out.

Credit due: Chavez was not a dimwit. He recognized the need for good publicity to deflect the ongoing chaos inside Venezuela, which explains the free oil sent to victims of Sandy and others ‘good will acts’ prior to. He controlled the news media in his own country from leaking the truth about the manipulation of their Constitution and daily suffering of citizens. He befriended leaders from Iran, N Korea, China & Cuba (wonder why our sanctions against Iran have not had the effect expected?). He bank-rolled destabilization & the political changes in Bolivia, Uruguay & Ecuador. While he professed to be in pursuit of Bolivar’s dream to unify Latin America, he only did so to gain followers. Best example that he did not care to do so is thru the guerrilla activities/ assasinations he maintained across the borders with Colombia, as well as his withdrawal of oil gifts from countries that did not abide to his whim. Those so inclined to call him a hero have no respect for democracy or for the sanctity of our Nation.

I have my suspicions that Chavez made an alliance with FARC of Colombia. He publicly denied them up and down in '08; but that is a typical ploy for those who would utilize their covert services. SA had seen the destabilization; but from what armed/trained source? Think that FARC was behind it; perhaps even bankrolled by Chavez hidden within a bank or three from skimming those vast oil revenues. He didn't reach his goal of turning all of SA into an allied states under one leadership ('his'); so we have to see where his successor takes this. Be interesting to hear what Brazil thinks of the Chavez demise.

FARC seeks to overturn the Colombian government. Chavez was aided by the Cuban Army, but not all SA countries fell for the trap. Chile, Colombia, Paraguay & Brazil have prosperous economies & stable governments. Don't know Argentina stands in the comunist scale, but think that Peru swings red. Costa Rica and other CA countries did not allow influence. The problem is that the seed is planted next door. Not good. Not 'prudent' to allow the spread of communism right at our shores.
