I ordered a new SPT 500 and was wondering about adjusting swr. Is it done with the top section of the antenna or the bottom section?

Old Super Penetrator instructions states 22’3” = 267” long from radial plate to the tip.

Since this new SPT 500 has some minor changes in the Matching Section ( original one used aluminum rods, new one uses aluminum straps ) , I could tune mine by lengthening it to 22’4” = 268”, remember, from radials plate to the tip of the last section, where the capacity hat is installed.

r carl, if you notice on that manual you posted, the antenna length 19 feet long. With that length it will never tune on 11 meter band. It must be lengthened to around 22 feet and 3-4 inches in order to get it on 11 meter band.
It say's it will tune for 10 and 12 meter.
Maybe they were thinking from the top of the bracket.
For a 23 channel cb set the overall length of the pipe (bottom of the bracket, aka feed point, to top of radiator) to 22' 9 1/2". And for a 40 channel cb set it to 22' 6". That is for an original SPT 500.

Mine is set to 22’ 5” from the bottom of the bracket to top of radiator.

I was wrong about measurements from radial plate to top of radiator. I should have said 21’ and 5”.
