Hygain Afterburner Plus 482 Grid Bias

Since the tubes are wired as grounded grid triodes, is there any reason we are not biasing them as such, through the cathode? It seems like lifting RFC 1 from ground and inserting a zener or a string of silicone diodes bypassed with a cap, would be the way to go here. You can precisely dial in the bias current, without worrying about other available supply voltages. Add a DC blocking cap to prevent that bias from going back into the radio.

Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.

Is 30 ohms worth worrying about in a 100’ run of rg8u ?
