Heya. I’ll jump in, but only for a little. I really just want to talk about radio here but this thread caught my eye.

Here’s my take:

I don’t know if there is a rise of police brutality going on, but I do know the ability for such events to be recorded and shared has increased exponentially. Thus, bringing it more to our “attention” and allowing folks to react to. Cancel culture sucks, but in some cases the “social media impact” is a necessary evil in order to get the right eyes on an issue.

I expect any LEO or DR or Teacher or fireman (anyone, really, in service to the community) to call out and “blow the whistle “ on the bad actors amongst them. Being silent and letting those continue their bad ways does nothing to help, and ends up in the narrative of “they are all bad”. No, not all are bad, but turning a blind eye doesn’t make you that much better.

I’ve been digging around trying to find objective non biased data about enforcement and race, and this appears to be there, at least if only somewhat (though not perfect - what is??)

(FYI PNAS stands for proceedings of the national Academy of Sciences of the United States of America).

There are more than 2 political affiliation systems. And we are not all as dissimilar as “they” would have us believe. Though , individual groups are really freakin good at driving that wedge between us.

We have to combat that. Daily. Try this link out for your own at home test of where you land:

The data about where people are moving is a mix. A year or 2 ago it was rural -> suburban (https://www.pewsocialtrends.org/201...ends-in-urban-suburban-and-rural-communities/ AND https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-ta...rican-life-in-urban-suburban-and-rural-areas/ )

Perhaps the new census this year will give a new update to this data.

Lastly, before folks think I’m some kinda hippie high on the Mary Jane, there are a number of “right side” ideals I agree with, like legally owning firearms (though we will avoid the discussion of what “legal” means), the right to practice your own religion (as long as you don’t enforce it upon me or use it to make laws I have to adhere to), and keeping government small (what small means differs person to person).

Stay safe out there folks, and love thy neighbor. We’ll gain more by doing so

Like I tell all my new neighbors & friends ... " Leo Got Your 6 " ! :) I live my life by the code " Semper Fi " ! Stay Healthy & Safe ! 73 & God Bless ! Leo , PS you could have worse neighbors than myself " !

Live by the sword, die by the sword.

Ask stupid questions, get stupid answers.

Do stupid shit, pay the piper.

If “they” were doing the right thing and not the wrong, then “they” wouldn’t have to worry about the 5-oh. I think Jim Carey in Liar, Liar said it best when he told the guy on the phone “stop breaking the law, asshole”.

Problem solved.
