Lordy, real rash lately of idiots misrepresenting items. Particularly claiming "new" and then the item shows up dirty and dinged and scratched up. WTF?? Not only will epay and payyourlifeawaypal promptly force a refund for (item significantly not as described) these goobers risk getting a negative feedback over it. What's wrong with these people? :cursing:

as far as paypal is concerened if you the seller sent you an item with a proper tracking number and you recieved somthing thats a suscessful sale. item not as described does not mean anything to them. to many people have got somthing and took a picture of them getting somthing else in order to defraud paypal. you have to look to your card company

ebay will force the return and ding the sellers account for the purchase price PLUS shipping if paypal wont..........

case in point:

couple years ago i sold a big dynaco stereo amp (a QSA-300)

when I had originally bought the amplifier it had a dead channel so during part of my complete electrical overhaul I had replaced all the caps in it with modern ones.........

got the amplifier up and running on all 4 channels and enjoyed it for a few years untill i decided to sell it....

sold it on ebay for a pretty good chunk of change (a little over $300) and sent it on its way...

couple days later the buyer is emailing me claiming it doesnt work!!!!!!!!!

WTF?!?!?!?!?!

I KNEW it worked when it left here and there was no shipping damage etc....

so I tried to work with the buyer best i could and he was ADAMANT about wanting a full refund including shipping.........

now when i had put up the ad I said the standard "old electronics as-is no returns etc etc...

ANYHOW this guy was a real dick and i basically told him to stuff it.......

he SHIPPED the amplifier back to me and filed with EBAY for a return...

ebay sided with him..even tho i said the amplifier was "AS-IS" in the ad......

ebay hit my sellers account for 100% of the sale AND shipping costs......

............................................................

oh the amplifier???

remember when i said i changed caps in it??

I open it up after he sent it back to me and there was NO replacement caps on any of the boards.......

c0cksucker swapped boards out of a non-working amplifier into mine and then said mine didnt work...

made me eat all that money AND left me a negative feedback....

f*uckers......I HATE ebay

Well maybe and no. I reckon it is ebay that has the "significantly not as described" protection but seeing as most transactions on ebay are paid thru paypal....then paypal is where your refund is going to come from.

I've had to force refunds like this at least 5 or 6 times in the last couple of years and "win the case" every time.

noooooo

even if item was paid for by paypal if EBAY forces the refund funds they will charge the SELLERS EBAY account and restrict him from using ebay at all untill he squares up his account

YESSSSSSSS and sort of. Depends.

I sell on ebay as well as buy. When I refund a buyer paypal refunds me the transaction fee because a refunded transaction is a cancelled transaction. Ebay will may still get the Listing Fee but the Final Value Fee is refunded too because the transaction is cancelled.

Yes paypal will go ahead and pay the buyer and get the money back from you. Your account may or will be locked down until you put the funds into your account but this is just merely paying your "bill." Nothing special about that.

those stickers ARE a good idea, however, it will not stop ebay or paypal from siding with the buyer NO MATTER WHAT. ebay does not care about warranties or stickers. even if your auction states "as is" or "no refunds", ebay will side with the buyer everytime.

Pretty much. Best idea seems to be that if you run across a doofus buyer and he wants his friggin money back....quickly agree and take the item back and issue the refund. Should save yourself from getting a negative feedback anyway. Sell it again. Another day, another buyer. It's not the end of the world.

Immediate add that buyer to your Blocked Bidders List
