I'm going to mark this as the most confusing post I've ever read on this forum.
Captain K said > I have been here since the beginning of time. I am speaking from experience that's all.

So I requested the autographed bible as proof: LOL

Like I said, it is very confusing. The bible was "completed" yesterday in relation to the beginning of time. Who would even autograph it, John? The whole post is just extremely confusing to me.

Well Father Time (haha) said he was here since the beginning of time so possibly he could autograph it? Or maybe he did the illustrations?

On the 7th day, God created the RCI 2995DX so that Europeans could communicate with the Indians in North America so they could trade apple pie recipes and plan Thanksgiving and the Fourth Of July. ~ circa beginning of time

Illustrations by Capt. Kilowatt ~ circa when dirt was new

Well it would be a fake autograph since the book in question is about fake events.
So you really were there and can bear witness that all of the bible is fake? Not exactly the kind of response I was expecting and certainly was not looking for confrontation but I didn't know you had such destain for the bible do you hold the same destain for all beliefs or just Christian? and do you have the same destain for those of us that have a belief in the teachings of the bible and do you have the same destain for the Coran and Muslim beliefs would you be willing to condemn it as well? Just wondering since you found it necessary to respond as you did. My post was not designed to offend anyone so it comes as a bit of a surprise.

No judgement here. I was a Christian, until I actually started studying the bible. I had many questions that I presented to my pastor, and he gave me some seriously outrageous answers. One thing lead to another and I had 100 questions for every answer I found. It wasn't until I started researching religions that predate Christianity that things started to make sense.

There never is a "Dislike" button around when you need one.

Forget the CB versus Ham debacle. This thread is about to go south for another reason. At lightning speed.

LOL:LOL::ROFLMAO: I figured that response would raise a few eyebrows. LOL  NOTHING stirs up emotions like politics or religion. To each his own. Nothing to see here. Move along folks.....move along. :ROFLMAO::D:cool:

Well if you would have to have issues with any book concerning religion written thousands of years ago as anyone thousands of years would most likely have with many of the books written in the last 100 years. You hold one book up written that predates the bible and try to give it more authority because no one was there to witness any of it. My problem comes when people overshadow the teachings. Let me explain it like this in the 10 so-called commandments there is the "Thou shall not steal" does that idea have no value because we can't come to terms with Jesus being raised from the dead? Does thou shalt not kill get thrown away because we can't believe there was a great flood and a boat large enough to carry all that it carried? There are many teachings that we all still have belief into this day and storytelling as in the bible is a huge part of making those beliefs easier to teach and understand. I have many questions as well but do my best to not through the baby out with bath water for there are many really good ideas in the bible as there are in many books.

I would never say that most of the teachings of the bible are bad. Are they true stories, absolutely not but that doesn't mean it cant help some people be better.

There have been many hands in the cookie jar as far as the written bible goes. You even mention "Thou shall not kill". If you go back a ways in earlier text it says "thou shall not murder". There is a major difference in the translation there. That is just one very tiny example, but there are much larger misinterpretations (although most are done on purpose).

I distinctly recall our pastor correcting jesus about his resurrection. "What he meant was PARTS of three days and three nights". Wait, what? Jesus didn't even know what he was saying, and he had to be corrected by this guy?

If a person needs religion to know he shouldn't be a bad person, I am all for it. If a person needs religion to get through their day without doing bad things, I am all for it. Different strokes...
