I finally ordered the new tower today.

Sweet deal CK.

Tower/Antenna is 100% straight forward and not all that difficult but what comes with it is.

Maybe and maybe not. It depends where you live and I live in the right place. :D

With all that said can you help others with your small struggles what you needed to do to get to get to this point?

Sure. Save up lots of money and never tell the wife exactly what it cost. :D

Sure you though of of this but here it gos.

This ain't my first kick at the can with something like this.

Neighbors good people?

Who cares? Actually one is my aunt who could care less and lives several hundred feet away and the other lives a few hundred feet away in the opposite direction. We just call him the IBD. That stand for Idiot Bus Driver so that sums it up pretty good for Tim. This is the same guy that walked up to two RCMP officers with weapons drawn during a felony take down of a stolen vehicle in front of my house and asked them what was going on. :headbang I only hope he does object because there is NOTHING he can do about it. (y)

Neighbors Not going to cry that there house value will decline?

See note above about neighbors. This is a rural location and folks rarely if ever bitch about what goes on next doors except if they DON'T know what is going on.

Will it be next to the house?

45 feet south of it.

Will it be on the same side of the house the wind blows?

Irrelevant. We get strong winds from all directions here depending on the time of year. The fall brings strong west and southwest winds while the winter brings strong north and eastern winds.

Building Permit required?

No permit required except for commercial towers.

When Permit is needed Take photographs of the process they will be needed.
City zoning or building and safety office?

5 1/2 X 7 1/2 Deep is awesome and not overkill in My book and I can Dig it =) but why?

That is what Trylon specs for the foundation.

Do you need to call in the Gas Co. Ect?

No buried utilities in this area at all.

Cure time for 5 1/2 X 7 1/2 hole will be 28 Days depending on how much heat it lets out and how much hosing is done the 3-4 of the first days after install.

That is the complete cure time for any size hole actually. You only need wait a few days before beginning to erect the tower. I have had commercial 200+ footers erected a week after pouring the foundation.

Just many people to get that thing up there =) ?

Just me on the tower and one other on the ground rigging stuff for lifting. As i said above, this ain't my first kick at the can doing this. A good rigger on the ground and a good gin pole/hoist makes it easy actually.

Congrats Dude have a blast =) and share the pictures.

Tnx and will do. Tower ships in a couple days and then the fun begins.

Sounds great CK.

Hopefully your soil up there is not like this Georgia clay here.

My other residence in FL I can dig a hole in that sand no problem.

When I put up 60' of tower here I was over three hours with a pick axe and shovel digging the hole.

Afterwards my friend stopped by and told me they usually use a jackhammer to dig any depth in this GA clay.

ONLY three hours?? You must be in a LOT better shape than I am. How big was the hole and was the tower guyed? This is a free standing tower BTW and needs a BIG base.

Non free standing, Rohn 25, guyed at 30' and at 55', 60' total.
3'x3'x4' deep.

I have the Imax 2000 mounted at the top. Allows me to use 10/11/12/15 meters no tuner required for vertical.

Two pulleys, one for the multi band dipole 20/40/80 using 3rd harmonic for 15 meters.

Other pulley has the 3/2 17 meter dipole on it.

I brought the Mosley PRO 67B up here to this QTH also. So many thunderstorms and strong winds coming through the mountains I decided to just play with some wires. I watched those pecan trees sway back and forth way to much for me to even think about putting a big wind load on top of that tower.

I think I need some rohn 45 for the PRO67B before I put it up in the air. That yagi alone weighs around 110 lbs by itself, not including hazer or rotor.

I do not know about any better shape, I was just determined to use that $228.00 lean over plate so I went to digging.
