I setup my father’s hustler multi-band antenna with trunk mount. That’s a heavy antenna for window mount? The thick tube with quick-disconnect fitting on bottom and a plate on top for several band-dedicated tips with loading coils.

You need a good metal surface for ground plane effect. Window mount will not be very efficient and stationary only I presume. We had 15-20M ok on a mobile but much lower gets inefficient really fast.

I always had good results with Hustler/New-Tronics antennas both in the old CB Days (70's) and HF bands after that. The tuning is easy and nice bandwidth above 20 meters. I even used them on 75m. I however NEVER seen or heard of a "window mount" for those antennas. Please pictures or model number of this set-up.

Made in USA (y)

From their beginning in Cleveland, Ohio, Hustler Antennas have been produced in the U.S.A. for over 40 years. Since 1985 Hustler Antennas have been manufactured and marketed by New-Tronics Antenna Corporation in Mineral Wells, Texas, on the western edge of the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex.

Welcome!
Many here to help.

It what truckers attach whip to the rig attach to the side mirrors

Long time.....
Ok
You need a counterpoise for the Antenna to work off of, normally this metal is the body of the car.
You can add wires like Gary posted above for this, or use two antennas and make a dipole for base use.
Have a look at this thread
Homemade dipole are easy and work well.
Can be mounted vertical or horizontal.

Good day, I have an Icom IC910H radio. I want to program a memory with split frequency tone on TX only and NO tone on RX,. Is this possible to do from the face of the radio? I don't have the interface to connect to a computer.
  • @ crappykraco:
@Deon very unlikely to get a response here. You are better off starting a thread on the topic.
