There is a piece of furniture, that I can absolutely use, as it's made by the same company, and same style, as our kitchen table.
Unfortunately, the company that made the pieces, of furniture, no longer produces the chairs, that we need for our kitchen table, as 2 of the old ones are broken, and unrepairable.
The particular eBay seller is in my qth area, and the furniture is for pickup only.
I would really like to pass my phone number, a long to the seller, as we can set something up in order to look at the furniture, before making a best offer.
The seller is a first-time seller, with zero feedback, and only posted two photos of the chairs.
If I can somehow sneak my phone number, into an eBay message to the seller, I can set something up so that we can go look at the pieces, and make an offer, as the eBay sale does have a listed price, but also offers, a best offer option.

I made a deal with a guy 8 or 9 years ago for my sweet sixteen. I was about to bid on it and he pulled the listing because he was going out of town for the weekend and I got him to call me. I ended up paying a bit less than he was asking due to him not having to pay EBAY fees and he actually came out ahead. It was a win win.

Thank you my friend. I will give it a try. My purpose for wanting to do so, is not to circumvent him, paying any eBay fees, but his description is lacking to say the least, and there's only a few pictures. I did message him or her, asking to add more detailed pictures of the item, and to describe any scuffs, gouges scrapes, and any loose fittings. I'm definitely not comfortable, and I won't pay almost $1,000 for his asking price, or even make a best offer, that is also an option, that was listed for the item, before I can actually stop by his qth, and go over the furniture piece. I will give it a go. Thanks again.

I actually looked it up after reading your post last night and turns out they really do suspend accounts or charge fees for doing so according to the ebay community. Their rules and fees keep getting ridiculous...

I appreciate you taking the time, to check that out for me. I am not an eBay seller, and only make purchases, so I guess the worst that could happen is, for trying to add my phone number for the seller to contact me come is that they might suspend my account, although I doubt it very much. I've spent the proximately $5,000, over the last 6 years, just in Adding to my timberland collection. I can't even begin, to add up the total amount of money I've spent, on miscellaneous items over the last 8 years. So if it doesn't work, and they decide to suspend my account, I'll just open another one under my girl's name. I hope that they don't suspend my account, as I would like to keep my purchased items list, and 100% positive feedback as a buyer, even though I don't think that accounts for much. The person still has not contacted me, even though I left the detailed message stating that, they need to leave a detailed description of the condition of the furniture, and add 10 more photos, as they only have two posted. They are first time eBay sellers, with no feedback whatsoever. I don't think they're looking to scam anyone, and the items are for pick up only. I will not make an offer on the items unless there is a accurate and honest description, in case their description is totally misleading, as that leaves me a cause to open a case against them. I just think their first time eBay selling experience, shows. I checked out my local Facebook for sale items, but they're not listed there. I also checked out Craigslist, in hopes that they listed them there on top of having them listed on ebay. It would have been so much easier had they listed them on craigslist. Easier for them and us. There is no fees when selling on Craigslist, and I could have easily set up a time, in which to go over to their home and go over the furniture pieces, and if everything was copesthetic, I would have paid them the money and had someone load the items into the equinox. By the way the items are chairs, that were made by a company who is still very popular, and obviously in business but since the chairs are almost 20 years old they no longer produce that particular model. Our dining room set, has a total of six chairs, but two of them were broken, at a slightly ruckus party. LOL once again thanks for the info. I will wait for more input. I did leave my phone number to a seller once, and I spelled it out, and added a few digits, and it actually went through and the seller did contact me. That was years ago and I think eBay has programmed their computers, in a way that that underhanded way of getting a seller your contact information, is quickly picked up by their new computer program.

I believe sharing contact information after a purchase is okay, as far as eBay is concerned. It's sharing it, before and or during a purchase is what they don't want. They're obviously afraid of being cut out, as the middleman, and losing their cut of the sale profits. YMMV?

Omg! There are so many acronyms, nowadays. I'm not sure if that one has been around for a while, but it's a good one, but one I've never seen or heard of Until now. Modern technology such as, texting, messaging etc have created hundreds of new acronyms, and there seems to be a new one almost every day. There are still so many that I don't have knowledge of, when I see them I normally ask what they stand for, that way when I see it again I'm not ignorant. There's a few very popular ones, and even though I've asked and have been told what they mean, I often forget, as there are so many, and my memory, at least short-term, is very poor. I can tell you what I had for lunch on this date in 1975, but ask me what I had for lunch yesterday, and I'd be hard-pressed to recall. I think people sometimes just make them up as they go along, and if they're relevant, or good enough others will begin to use them and I guess that's what makes some popular, and ubiquitous. TMI? LOL SFBV. Sorry for being verbose. Holy shit! My keyboards next word prediction actually predicted, what the next words were, after I typed in sorry. Is SFBV an actual known acronym? I thought I just made that one up.
