I passed the technician exam today

Thanks guys
I do want to get my General Class ticke but do to the size of my yard putting up a 40/80 meters is going to be hard... i will be working 10, 6 and 2 mostly.

I'm currently trying out an end fed antenna that is 53 feet long. Got the idea from my friend's EARCHI antenna, only my Unun takes more power and I used 12 gauge wire instead of 18. It supposedly will tune 80 in the configuration that I have it in. I'm studying for General and should be taking the test in about 2 more weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to try it out soon and let you know how it works. Any short antenna is a compromise, but you gotta do what ya gotta do when your back yard is only so big. If I were you, I would at least try to get 20 meters and up... then you'd have 20, 17, 15, 12, 10 and 6.

73,
Brett

Coax question. I just put up a new Sirio monsoon base antenna with 100’ of rg8u coax testing with myMFJ antenna analyzer shows 1.4 swr at 26.965mhz and a 1.1 at 27.405 mhz . When I checked the ohms it’s steady a 30 ohms across the entire bandwidth.

Is 30 ohms worth worrying about in a 100’ run of rg8u ?
