ICOM 7300 WITH A CARL BUILT 800HD.


A local operator runs this combo, sounds really good. I built a power supply for him from 3 HP server supplies and have it set at 14.7 volts. He makes 1200 watts out according to his meters. If you want to know more, just ask.

Op here uses his 7300 into a biased 8 transistor amp.

I am very suprised at how good the 7300 performs on AM.
No mods done to the 7300 except for opening up the transmit.
 
Not surprised that this combo sounds good. When I'm ready to get my next HF rig again it will be a 7300. They have so many menu adjustments available on the TX they can easily be adjusted to sound really good on AM and even with the factory hand mic. Of course can sound great on SBB with adjusting the bandwidth out. Best HF rig out there on the price.

I sure dont need another radio, but. the 7300 I have not heard a bad sounding one out there yet if operated correctly
