Got a link? If that's true, it would have been the prosecutors job to pursue certification as an adult. The judge can only rule on what's been presented in court.

I was involved in a felony case 13 years ago, and as a part of the presentencing I had to write a letter to the judge expressing my thoughts towards the perpetrator. But that's just procedure and judges can't rule by emotion, they have precedence and laws governing them.

I feel like at 16 you're still a child and the responsibility of your parents. Parents who acted irresponsibly by allowing a 16 year old access to a car with no firm guidelines on how or when to operate it. In my state, new drivers must pay a driving school for an education. Part of that is watching 4 hours of video. Most of that consists of gory car accidents caused by cell phones and DWI. They have no problem showing the dead bodies of the driver and passengers involved either.

Even though it's a tremendous responsibility, we must place it where it belongs when dealing with a 16 year old. Right on the parents. This kid obviously didn't have a father to fear if he got caught drinking or smoking at this age. Having a car is a privilege. One that should be earned and taken away at the first sign of serious trouble. Especially for a teenager. Seeing 15 or 20 dead bodies of people doing exactly what he did may have influenced him.

I see at least one civil/wrongful death lawsuit coming very soon

he might not go to prison,but by the time the families of those he killed are done with him and his family,he will be a as broke as crack whore at the end of the month
